Aha moments!

Everyone has Aha moments, when suddenly you get it.  The "it" varies.  But whatever "it" is, you move from not understanding something to understanding something.  And as a consequence of your new understanding, other things make more sense.  The world looks more orderly and coherent.  You feel fabulous when you experience an Aha moment.

( In our textbook, Langston Hughes wrote a short story called "Salvation," which is another Aha moment.  You should read this..all three pages.)

Of course, Aha moments sometimes come in reverse, so to speak.  Sometimes, we become disillusioned by what we learn.  This makes the world seem duller, flatter and less magical, even if it makes more logical sense.  When I told my cousins that there was no Santa Claus, they experienced an Aha moment.  Their mother, my aunt, flushed my goldfish down the toilet in revenge.

But less we end up on a down note, let me remember another positive Aha moment.....
